Reproduction and Vintage Quilts

Civil War Sampler, 1860 to 1870
Such sampler quilts were the rage in and around Baltimore, Maryland. Thought to be the highly skilled work of one woman, now we know they were actually made by a quilt maker, who put them into kits. The kits were sold regularly and passed around to friends and family. Collections were made of kit constructed quilts.
